Storefront Renovation Program now accepting applications

1/5/2015 2:00:00 PM The Department of Development is now accepting applications from owners of commercial buildings located in designated Investment Target Areas in 32 Cuyahoga County communities.  Up to $20,000 is available per property, towards the cost of repairs needed to make the building more suitable for use by local businesses.  Investment Target Areas were updated by the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission in mid-2014, based on a comprehensive review of building conditions in 51 eligible suburban communities.

To ensure that all funded projects are consistent with local community plans, property owners must apply through their local communities.  Once an application is reviewed and approved, the property owner will enter into a written agreement with Cuyahoga County which will provide for a rebate of 50% of the cost of approved repairs.

Property owners may call Michael Towarnicky at the Department of Development directly at (216) 698-2473 for more information, including the contact person in their local community.
