The Department of Development strives to undertake and support initiatives that sustain the quality of our communities, provide open and affordable housing choices, expand and retain employment opportunities, help assure the lasting viability of local businesses and strengthen the tax base one project and one parcel at a time.

Storefront Renovation Rebate Program: The 2009 Storefront Renovation Rebate Program is designed to assist business owners in the Urban County with improving the facades of storefronts and /or correcting exterior code violations.
Competitive Municipal Grant Program: Awards Community Development Block Grant funds to local municipalities to assist with numerous projects including infrastructure, streetscape and senior citizens centers.
Parks and Playground Intitiative: Awards Community Development Block Grant funds to local municipalities to assist with the design, upgrade and revitalization of public parks, playgrounds or fitness trails for the benefit of the neighborhood.
Return on Investment: The ROI calculator provides a quantifiable measure of the potential Community Benefit that can be provided by redevelopment projects or new economic development projects. This Calculator is designed to assist in determining the potential tax benefit of the project.
