Clean Ohio Grant Awarded for Tri-C Expansion

$ 3 Million Clean Ohio Grant Has Been Awarded to Assist
Cuyahoga County College Eastern Campus Expansion Project.

Cuyahoga County has been awarded these Clean Ohio Revitalization Funds to help with the remediation and demolition activities at the former MetroHealth Skilled Nursing Facility/Sunny Acres Hospital located at 4310 Richmond Road in Highland Heights.

This award is the first step in the implementation of Cuyahoga Community College (TRI-C) Eastern Campus 10-year master plan. A total of $ 10 Million will be expended in the purchase, environmental remediation and demolition of this 200,000 square foot structure along with the former nurse’s dormitory and existing underground service tunnels. The redevelopment of this 41 –acre brownfield is
part of Phase I of 106-acre project site that will be redeveloped to incorporate new facilities and capital improvements to accommodate the growing demand in health careers and technology training curriculums. Phase II of the 10-year plan will create new workforce training, career center facilities. Phase III will expand upon the existing hospitality, arts, music and educational centers of TRI-C
Eastern Campus 10-year, $54 Million, master plan.

This $3 Million grant will be awarded to and administered by Cuyahoga County Department of Development as applicant for Tri-C as Development Partner of this project to train our workforce for the changing and emerging industries.
