is a small start-up company that is located in Cleveland, OH and is dedicated to providing alternative energy solutions to consumers through their product nPower™ . The company was founded by Aaron LeMieux, who is also the inventor of the nPower™, in May of 2007. The nPower™ PEG captures the kinetic energy generated from walking or running and uses this renewable energy to power handheld mobile electronic devices such as cell phones, MP3 players, and iPods. Aaron conceptualized the idea for the product while hiking along the Appalachian Trail. Aaron an avid hiker, went to use his cell phone and quickly realized that his battery had died.
For the past year and a half, the company has been focusing on completing its product development, negotiating with suppliers, filling key management positions, and raising capital to fund initial product launch. The company has also received more than 1000 consumer pre-orders, made inroads with potential consumer-oriented distributors, and succeeded multiple evaluations by the US Military for its Personal Energy Generator product. The Company has also signed MOUs with First Energy Corporation and Parsons Engineering related to development of its Wave Energy Converter product.
According to Aaron, “The NCO loan has enabled the company to continue product development and attract additional financing needed to bring its products to market.”
The company was recently showcased by Governor Strickland at a press conference on regional economic development, profiled in
a national segment by National Public Radio, and presented at the Dow Jones 2009 Alternative Energy Conference.
The company is making final preparations for commercial launch of its first product, the Personal Energy Generator, which is expects to release shortly after the first of the year.
